Q:How do you determine my transportation charges?

Your transportation charges are based on distance, weight, and dimensions. Distance is calculated from the pick-up zip code to the delivery zip code. Next your freight charge varies due to actual weight or the dimensional weight of the freight. If you are shipping 500 lbs. of bricks the dimensions are not going to be a factor, so you would be charged for 500 lbs. of actual weight. If you are shipping 500 lbs. of feathers then you will be charged from your dimensions. To calculate the dimensional weight of your freight we take the length time's width time's height divided by 194. The length, width, and height are calculated from the farthest points. Example if you have a skid of boxes that measures 48 inches in length and 48 inches in width and the height is 24 inches but you have a six foot pole in the middle of the skid the height will be 72 inches.

Q:Should I ship to the advance warehouse or direct to the exhibit hall?

 Most exhibitors ship to the exhibit hall, due to the price of drayage and lack of time. At All States Shipping we can ship to either location, and still save you on your shipping costs.

Q:What is Detention Time?

Detention time is a charge from the time the driver checks in at the pick-up/delivery location until the time he checks out. Most carriers give an hour or two free of charge, at All States Shipping we have such a large volume of freight moving in/out of convention centers nationwide that we rarely charge detention time. All States Shipping does not charge any detention time.

Q:Shows over, how do I get my freight back to my office?

 When the shows over and your freight is packed, labeled, and ready to go. You have to go to the service desk and request a material handling agreement (MHA). This MHA must be filled out completely with Exhibit Transfer, Inc. as your carrier, and then the MHA must be turned back in at the service desk. IT CAN NOT BE LEFT ON YOUR FREIGHT.
